✨ Highlights of the Week
still fucking sad about getting A- for IS mod, maybe everyone just did better but i really find this mod is one of the most useful ones. i re-learnt about the principles & concepts i have been applying at work for years, it’s a good reminder that i should be more aware of the principles and concepts behind the work i do, and not just blindly follow the instructions. i also learnt about some new concepts that i haven’t encountered before, which is always exciting! but sadly it is what it is A-…
had a chill trip at genting with my frens, watched spiderman brand new day and the odyssey. man, odyssey is goated, im not a movie goer, i dont watch movies often but watching odyssey got me wondering, was it CGI/AI? after all, searched up on tiktok and found out that it was all real giant robot, real trojan horse, etc. i was amazed by the scale of the production, and the amount of work that went into this movie; and it was also quite funny to see holland and zendaya appear in both movies.. hmm. weird. once a face carries a label, its just hard for the audience to erase that face and characteristics out of it, to me, it’s quite weird hahaha
and it was a good weekend road trip up to genting and back, wasn’t the best but we did chill, we talked and i’m grateful for having 2 best friends of mine who are always there for me. good reminder for me to always be grateful for the people around me, and to always be there for them too.
cheers for many more trips and adventures with my frens in the future!
📋 Recap
📚 NUS
- Y1ST results came back, an A+ for Database Systems and an A- for Information Systems, both now on the module-by-module record of what each one taught me
🔧 Projects
🏋️ Gym Buddy
- Let a first-timer start training before answering anything, and stopped pitching a plan to someone already mid-workout
- Turned weight and rest into wheels you swipe on the logging screen
- Made the app ask where you are training before the first set, and let you correct a wrong guess afterwards
- Let a finished session take a set you forgot to log
- Merged the diet target sheet and its explainer into one calculator that says where the maintenance number comes from
- Shipped a story image for a finished session, then pulled it the same day
💪 Fitness
- Caught a whole training day about to go out with no notes on it, and traced it back to a rule I had written down as a design principle that only ever held inside the app
- Fixed one exercise’s missing description, then went looking and found eighteen more sitting the same way, so it was a pattern rather than the one-off it looked like
