✨ Highlights of the Week
since last week i’ve been putting a lot effort into “promoting” my product and im so happy currently i have 2 real users who are actively using my product, ofc they are my friends, but actually i contacted 20+ of my frens. 2 stayed. at this point im questioning my direction but i dont see the point in giving up as im literally using this product myself, it solved my own problem!
it made me come to a realisation that sometimes a product definition of good or bad aint defined by you; but by the market needs. till now, slowly seeing the needs, might be 1 out of 20 who actually have this problem, so in the world of people who take gym seriously, lets say 1,000,000, could be 10,000 needing it, and…. its not a small number either!
so it got me thinking about the direction of how i can add on more bonus features such that alongside recording sets and reps, you get to interact with people in the app as a public space too! and i named it Lobby!
wonderful week ngl, everyday im just using the product i build for my own issue, just find it so lucky to be in this era…
im just so lucky
more to go, hopefully get 100 DAU this EOY!!!!!
📋 Recap
📚 NUS
- Closed Sprint 6 and opened Sprint 7, moving the term-wide tables out of the sprint file after roughly two hundred of its lines turned out never to have been sprint state
- Scored 10/10 on the TCX2102 quiz, read off the per-item marks since the total itself is withheld
- Got P01 back at 7.5/8, and named the pattern behind the missing half mark: three marks lost this term, every one a typo rather than a gap in what I knew
- Shipped both individual-project increments two days before the deadline, swapping plain CSS for Tailwind across all six screens, then built a drill out of my own before-and-after diff
- Rescued the T01 submission with seven hours left, after two of its answers turned out to have no artefact in the repo at all
🔧 Projects
🏋️ Gym Buddy
- Shipped form check: record a set from the phone, watch the take back, and keep it
- Added a trim window, so a raw take gets cut down to the working set and published as an exercise’s demo video
- Grouped takes into story rings on the exercise sheet and a gallery on the Me hub, each one marked shared or private
- Opened form check as a grantable beta rather than an owner-only trial
- Rebuilt cardio logging around segments, so incline and resistance can change part-way through a single effort
- Let a coach send a plan straight to a student, unsend it while it waits, and see when it was opened
- Gave the coach a session review in three sections, and a standing cue that stays attached to a movement
- Let a coach add a student by name, including one who has never installed the app
- Opened a Lobby card onto every working set under it, not just the day’s headline movement
- Added one-tap comments, and let Gym Buddy answer a training day in the thread
- Parked the native iOS shell
💪 Fitness
- Learned to watch the joint that compensates rather than the one that is injured, since the old damage sits in one place while the load quietly shifts somewhere else
- Ran an entire lower body off one leg press at three foot positions, because in an unfamiliar gym cutting the wait for a second machine matters more than picking better movements
