but man, what a weekend, attended lioncity beatbox championship, was so immersed myself into it, participants from thailand, hongkong, malaysia and judges from malaysia and france 🔥 every time i went beatbox event, i look for something that will light up the love feeling in me again. and this time, Stitch (malaysia) sang bohemian rhapsody polyphonic, and i got goosebumps.

he was one of the best improver since 2019 we went Werewolf beatbox championship in indonesia, i didn’t pass the wildcard tho, but i could still rewind every moment of it, especially the stage he owned and performed “i’ll see you tonight”. 🥺 his voice and arrangement changed how i see beatboxing, and the possibility of doing it.

i don’t like to say that, but, days after days from working, from school, my love towards beatboxing, fading? i tried to find it back tho.. like i mention here back in this blog but im seeing it now as im so close, im just one step away to find my own style, especially as someone who has been listening to Colaps since i started beatboxing. the first time i saw him was a shoutout he did for Pepouni. Colaps was just a solid beatboxer back then, but a few years later he showed up at GBB wildcard with a complete new style, sharing a stage with dlow. that change, that is not just a finding style, that is basically willingness to explore, to accept, to try different things that might not be suitable. back to Stitch, he had a unique sound from the start and good voice naturally, but he didn’t stop exploring diff combinations, after the competition, off stage, he was talking to another participant, i caught that he was sharing that he would come up with 10 diff variations for a single drop just to pick the best one.

that is actually the spirit i’m missing, jinghui, stop sticking with what u know, do the 10-variations thing, stop settling for the first drop that works.

try exploring, jinghui.

i got this.
